Point Loma's Hommes Named NABC Division II Player of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today that Point Loma Nazarene University’s Daulton Hommes has been selected as the 2019 NABC Division II Player of the Year powered by ShotTracker.
 
Hommes will receive his award on Sunday, April 7, at the annual AT&T NABC Guardians of the Game awards show in Minneapolis.  The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Auditorium in the Minneapolis Convention Center during the NABC Convention and NCAA® Men’s Final Four®. The show will be broadcast live on Stadium (https://watchstadium.com).
 
A first team All-America selection by the NABC Division II coaches, Hommes averaged 21.8 points per game and 5.9 rebounds in helping the Sea Lions win the West regional championship to advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in Evansville, Ind.  The 6-8 junior guard and PacWest Player of the Year was an efficient scorer, hitting 54 percent of his field goal attempts and 47 percent from three-point range with 45 assists, 22 steals and 22 blocks.
 
In Point Loma’s 87-74 win over Queens of Charlotte Wednesday night in the Elite Eight opening round, Hommes scored 22 points with seven rebounds and three assists, hitting on seven of 14 field goal attempts including three of four from three-point range.
