Coaches All-America Awards Selected by the NABC
The 2010-11 State Farm Coaches' All-America team for NABC Division I was introduced on Saturday, April 2, in Houston at the Hilton Americas Hotel. CBS and ESPN basketball analyst and color commentator Len Elmore, an All-America basketball player at the University of Maryland, was once again the host for the event, which features players from the Division I first, second and third teams. State Farm Coaches' All-America teams, selected by members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches, are also selected in NCAA Division II and Division III, NAIA Division I and Division II, and NJCAA Division I, Division II and Division III.
The NABC has been selecting men's college basketball All-America teams for the past 63 seasons with almost 900 individuals honored in NCAA Division I alone. The first NABC All-America team was selected in 1946-47 with a first and second team for nine seasons in Division I before adding a third team in 1955-56. In Division II, NABC All-America recognition was first bestowed in 1966-67 and Division III honored teams beginning in the 1976-77 season.
